Welcome!

Although I’ve been writing words on the internet since the days of dialup and ICQ codes, I haven’t had a consistent blog presence since LiveJournal bit the dust. That’s not entirely a bad thing! The early internet was a different internet. Pouring out one’s most personal and mundane details on a blog was normalized, but not commercialized the way it is now. In the intervening years, I like to think I learned to differentiate between my private journal thoughts, my internet presence, and me.

So what’s this then?

This blog is me trying to come back to writing about my life online, but maintaining distance and, frankly, doing it in a way that might be interesting to people who don’t know me personally. It’s a blog, yes, but it’s not a personal one. It’ll never be like a TikTok or Instagram account in which my everyday life gets mined for clicks and ad revenue. 

That said, I do have a novel coming out next year. That novel is about vampires. I have a lot of thoughts about vampires and vampires are fun. So, this blog will be 1) updates/news about the book, 2) vampires, and 3) writing about the process of having a book come out and an active series underway.
